## Synopsis

The Trio (2026) is a Swedish romance drama series created by Veronica Zacco, Ina Sohlberg and Tina Bergström, produced by SF Studios and broadcast on SkyShowtime. Middle-aged Hugo, played by August Wittgenstein, is jolted by an encounter with the daughter of his childhood love, Thora, played by Rebecka Harper. That meeting sends him back to the moment his younger self begins college, where memories reveal a love triangle with his friend August, played by Felix Sandman, that grows more tangled with every turn. Samuel, played by Adam Pålsson, and Laura, played by Eva Röse, add weight to the younger circle of friends. The series is a single limited run of six thirty-minute episodes, with the two timelines moving side by side so the past keeps reframing the present. Its engine is the question of what was never said and what still lingers between people who once shared everything. The tone is intimate, wistful and aching, with a contemporary Scandinavian restraint that rewards patient viewers. Fans of Normal People, Call Me by Your Name and Skam will find resonance in its youthful longing and grown-up regret. Set in contemporary Sweden across the years of its youthful memories and present day, it is a quiet, emotionally layered story of yearning.
