## Synopsis

Sammy's Children's Day (2026) is a Chinese-language Hong Kong and mainland co-production crime romance miniseries created for GagaOOLala and adapted from a novel. Set in the lawless Kowloon Walled City of the 1980s, it follows an aspiring student, played by He Changxi as He Chusan, whose path crosses that of a triad enforcer, played by He Yanzhao as Xia Liuyi. Their unlikely and dangerous love grows while both fight to survive the gangs, rival factions, and shifting loyalties that govern the cramped district. Supporting roles from Zhang Mingbo as Lu Guangming, Matthew Han as Xie Jiahua, and Ren Xianggang as Sister Fei deepen the web of allegiances around them. The series runs nine hour-long episodes and is built as one continuing story, with each episode raising the stakes of the romance and the danger. Its atmosphere is claustrophobic and melancholic, with a thriller pulse and an undercurrent of unrequited longing. Fans of Infernal Affairs and Bad Buddy will find resonance in its gritty underworld and tender, forbidden bond.
