## Synopsis

Uno sbirro in Appennino (2026) is an Italian crime series created by Fabio Bonifacci for Rai 1 and RaiPlay. Claudio Bisio stars as Inspector Vasco Benassi, known in Bologna as the best cop until a mistake sends him to Muntagò, a small Apennine village he left years earlier after a traumatic loss. Alongside him are Chiara Celotto as Amaranta Palomba, Valentina Lodovini as Nicole Poli, and Michele Savoia as Fosco, a community of locals who pull him back into everyday life. The engine of the show is simple: each episode brings a fresh local case, and while Vasco untangles it with mountain-town patience, he slowly rebuilds relationships he had abandoned. The format is a single season of eight episodes in a case of the week structure, with a continuing thread of personal reconciliation. Set in a remote mountain village in the Apennines, the series sits in a warm, wistful register, with quiet landscapes and a hopeful, character driven mood. Fans of Don Matteo and Il commissario Montalbano will find resonance in its blend of gentle crime solving and small community life.
