## Synopsis

Tenacious D: Post-Apocalypto (2018) is an American comedy science fiction series created as a six-episode, twelve-minute comedy run. Jack Black stars as JB and Kyle Gass as KG, the two halves of the rock comedy duo Tenacious D, playing exaggerated versions of themselves. The premise: a nuclear war breaks out while the pair are going about ordinary lives, and they survive the onslaught by hiding inside a 1950s refrigerator. The engine of each brief episode is their wandering through a devastated wasteland, where the self-mythologizing bravado of the duo collides with every new hazard and every desperate survival scheme. Short, brisk episodes are built around sight gags, bombast, and the duo's musical swagger, so the comedy lands fast and loud. It is a limited run with a single season, and the tone stays irreverent, absurd, and gleefully over the top. Fans of Flight of the Conchords and Wayne will find a similar kinship in its deadpan musical absurdity and post apocalyptic silliness, while the format sits close to the sketch-driven spirit of Garfunkel and Oates.
