## Synopsis

Cold (2026) is a Russian crime drama series created by Aleksey Kazakov for the streaming platforms START, ivi and Wink. Across a single ten-episode season of roughly forty-six minutes each, the story follows Zhenya (Lyubov Aksyonova), a woman unjustly imprisoned for an accident on Kutuzovsky Prospekt that killed her husband and six-year-old daughter. Her engine is a fight against a system that has already decided her guilt, while the real culprits, the children of powerful families, are shielded by parents who lean on the court to deliver the right verdict. Supporting roles include Larisa Guzeeva as Tsapkova, Linda Lapinsh as Yana, Pyotr Fyodorov as Misha and Oleg Vasilkov as Karpachev, each pulling Zhenya's case through prison walls, legal maneuvering and private bargains. The series is a limited, self-contained run rather than an episodic procedural, unfolding as one continuous arc of injustice set in contemporary Moscow. Its tone is bleak, tense and emotionally raw, with grief and anger driving every scene. Viewers who enjoy the wrongful-imprisonment tension of The Night Of, the elite-impunity sting of Big Little Lies and the moral pressure of Dirty John will find a similar pull.
