## Synopsis

Banditskiy Peterburg: Advokat is a Russian crime drama miniseries set in the chaotic late 1990s of St. Petersburg. Detective Sergei Chelishchev leaves the police to track down the real killer of his parents, a private quest that pulls him back into the post-Soviet criminal world he thought he had left behind. His search leads him to an old friend, a war veteran who joined the local mafia after the Soviet Union collapsed, and their reunion draws him into a web of gangs, favors, debts and shifting loyalties. Each episode turns on a new confrontation, betrayal or bargain, so the story moves steadily toward a single reckoning. The tone is gritty, violent and morally grey, with a brooding sense of disillusionment and personal vengeance. Power is bought and broken in back rooms and on city streets, and every alliance carries a cost. Fans of Brigada and The Sopranos will find resonance in its mix of criminal brotherhood, moral compromise and the price of chasing justice outside the law.
