## Synopsis

Not a Stranger (2026) is a Turkish psychological thriller series created by Tuğba Doğan for Netflix. Painter Funda (Elçin Sangu), who has set her career aside after the birth of her child, hopes to return to her canvases once she finds the nanny she has been seeking. That hire is Nazlı (Melis Sezen), a mysterious and increasingly unsettling woman whose quiet presence begins to disrupt the household of Funda and her husband İlker (Ozan Dolunay). The engine of the series is a slow, escalating contest in which every domestic routine becomes a test of desire, secrets and loyalty, and each episode tightens the grip on a marriage that looked stable from the outside. The story is told across a single eight-episode season of about fifty-one minutes each, a contained run that suits a patient, claustrophobic thriller. Its atmosphere is intimate and tense, with a rising sense of dread inside an apparently peaceful Istanbul home. Fans of The Hand That Rocks the Cradle, The Nanny and Fatal Attraction will find the same domestic unease and the same creeping sense that the people closest to you may not be who they seem.
