## Synopsis

My Sad Dead (2026) is an Argentine and Chilean supernatural horror miniseries created by Pablo Larraín for Netflix. Its four episodes, each running about fifty minutes, follow Emma (Mercedes Morán), a reclusive doctor who communicates with spirits and has kept that gift largely hidden from the world. Her routine is thrown into disorder when her young niece arrives, bringing a more intense and unsettling approach to the same shared ability. Carolina (Dolores Fonzi) and Lidia (Alejandra Flechner) orbit the household, adding family tension and emotional pressure around the spirit encounters. The engine of the story is the friction between caution and intensity, as the two women struggle over how far to open the door to the dead and what that costs the people still living. Each episode builds dread through small domestic rooms, quiet conversations, and sudden spectral intrusions rather than spectacle. It is a single contained run, with the tone measured and intimate, mixing psychological unease with grief and family history. Fans of The Haunting of Hill House, The Others and The Sixth Sense will find resonance in its patient, eerie atmosphere and its focus on the emotional wounds that spirits expose.
