## Synopsis

The Bugs Bunny/Road Runner Hour (1968) is a United States animated variety series that treats its classic cartoons as a live stage revue. Bugs Bunny and his cartoon friends act as performers who entertain an audience across seven features per show, drawn from the theatrical shorts of the 1940s, 1950s and 1960s. The engine of each episode is simple: a parade of chase gags, verbal banter and slapstick routines strung together into a single evening of entertainment. Its shape is a single-season run of one episode, an anthology of vintage shorts rather than a continuing plot, so each segment stands on its own. The series sits within the American golden age of theatrical animation, carrying that era's zany, wordplay-driven humor onto television in a bright, playful register. Its tone is breezy, nostalgic and joyful, appealing to families and to viewers who grew up with the originals. Fans of The Bugs Bunny Show, The Woody Woodpecker Show and Tom and Jerry will find the same mix of chases, gags and affectionate mid-century cartoon charm.
