## Synopsis

I Would Rather Die (2026) is a Mexican-American scripted horror comedy series created for Prime Video, produced by Amazon MGM Studios and Tigre Pictures, and presented as a single eight-episode season of roughly half-hour episodes. Fernanda Castillo plays Sarah Díaz, and Diego Bernal plays Archibaldo Pérez, a misfit who is bitten by a zombie on a cold night and briefly considers ending his life before deciding to find out what is happening to his body. Armando Hernández plays Gerardo, and Tiaré Scanda plays Wendy, figures who join the search for a cure with him as his only friend and his lifelong crush. The engine of the show is a race against his own transformation: every episode turns up a new clue, a new obstacle, and a new risk that he will become a full-blown monster and harm everyone around him. The series is a fast, grisly, darkly funny ride, with gore and bodily horror balanced against awkward, sincere moments of friendship. Its tone is irreverent and chaotic, and its theme is the reluctant will to live. Fans of Shaun of the Dead, Zombieland and Santa Clarita Diet will find resonance in its blend of zombie outbreak chaos and character-driven humor.
