## Synopsis

Gone (2026) is a British crime drama created by George Kay for ITV1. When a headmaster's wife goes missing, suspicion quickly falls on him, and the series keeps viewers asking whether he is concealing something or whether the case holds a deeper truth. The headmaster is played by David Morrissey, and Eve Myles stars as DS Annie Cassidy, the detective pulling at the threads of the investigation. Emma Appleton plays Alana Polly, whose household sits at the center of the search, while Billy Barratt portrays Dylan Sedgwick, a figure whose story pulls the case in unexpected directions. The engine of the series is a steady accumulation of interviews, alibis, and half-truths, with each episode peeling back another layer of a respectable family's private life. Told across a single six-episode season of roughly 47 minutes each, it plays as one continuous, tightly plotted investigation rather than a case-of-the-week format. Its tone is tense and unsettling, grounded in the quiet dread of a community that thought it knew its neighbours. Fans of Broadchurch and The Missing will find resonance in its British small-community crime setting and its slow, suspicious unraveling of a seemingly ordinary household.
