## Synopsis

The Prosecutor (2026) is a Mexican raw docuseries presented as a three-episode limited series for Netflix. It follows Sayuri Herrera Román, who appears as herself and heads the newly established Femicide Investigation Unit in Mexico City, a department created to stop violence against women. Rather than dramatized scenes, the series observes the real casework of the unit, with each episode built from case files, witness interviews, and the procedural obstacles that slow every inquiry. The engine is the tension between the urgency of individual cases and the limits of an institution still finding its footing, as the unit confronts overwhelmed resources, difficult evidence, and families searching for answers. Each hour moves with the measured rhythm of real investigative work, grounded and unflinching, with a sober, urgent tone that foregrounds the human cost of gender violence. Viewers drawn to true crime docuseries such as Making a Murderer and The Staircase, or to Our Father's close look at justice institutions, will find resonance in its focus on how the system responds to harm. Its mature content and direct footage make it a serious, emotionally heavy watch best approached with full attention.
