## Synopsis

Reykjavík Fusion (2025-present) is an Icelandic crime drama series created by Gunnar Páll Ólafsson for Sjónvarp Símans. Chef Jonas, played by Ólafur Darri Ólafsson, is a talented cook trying to clear his name after a wrongful imprisonment and win back his family. Freed into a society that turns its back on him, he takes dirty money to open a fine-dining restaurant, and soon finds himself running a money laundering operation to repay it. Hera Hilmar plays Marý, Lára Jóhanna Jónsdóttir plays Katrín and Iðunn Ösp Hlynsdóttir plays Rósa, each pulled into the pressure that builds as his parole hangs in the balance and his life and loved ones are put at risk. The show runs as a single season of six fifty-minute episodes, a tightly built serialized story where every kitchen service and every cash transaction tightens the noose. Its mood is tense, grounded and melancholic, with a bleak undertow of shame and a longing for second chances. Set in present-day Reykjavík, its cold harbour streets and polished dining rooms contrast sharply with the criminal bargains being made behind them. Fans of Breaking Bad, The Bridge and The Bear will find resonance in its portrait of a decent man sliding into crime to protect what he loves.
