## Synopsis

From Overshadowed to Overpowered: Second Reincarnation of a Talentless Sage (2026) is a Japanese animated fantasy series produced for TOKYO MX and adapted from a light novel. The series follows the great sage Ephtal, voiced by Shuichiro Umeda, who dies in despair after failing to reach the peak of magic and is reborn four centuries later with every memory and power intact. Supporting voices include Reo Osanai as Anastasia, Haruka Shiraishi as Maria, and Emiri Kato as Iria, along with Daisuke Hirakawa as Fraser and Kentaro Ito as Joachim. Ephtal storms into a prestigious magic academy in a world where sorcery has decayed and ancient spells are treated as miracles, and each episode is built around his demonstrations of power that unsettle teachers and rivals alike. The twelve-episode single season moves briskly and keeps its tone escapist and triumphant, with a playful sense of a veteran sage humbling a complacent institution. Long-forgotten legends stir as his strength grows. Fans of Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation and The Misfit of Demon King Academy will find a similar appetite for reincarnation power fantasy and magic school rivalry.
