## Synopsis

Love Begins in the World of If (2025) is a Japanese miniseries adapted from a novel and created by Yuki Umino, produced by UNION TV & MOTION PICTURE CO., LTD. for MBS. Its six 25-minute episodes follow a quiet, overlooked office worker, Akito Kano (Kotaro Daigo), who has been shunted into a department he dislikes and struggles to fit in. After he wishes for change, a magic mirror pulls him into a parallel world where he is confident and accepted, and where his colleague Seiji Okami (Daisuke Nakagawa) admires him. The engine of the story is Akito's slow realization that his own attitude shaped many of his problems, and his growing romance with Seiji across the two worlds. Ryota Tomioka (Yuki Hayama) and Kaito Uchida (Sojiro Yoshimura) round out the office circle. Built on the isekai and boys love traditions, the series moves at a gentle, sincere pace with sweet, wistful moments and a hopeful undertone. Its contemplative atmosphere suits viewers who enjoy quiet romance with a fantasy twist, and fans of Adachi and Shimamura and Given will find a similar tender register. The tale is set in a contemporary Japanese workplace and its mirrored alternate counterpart.
