## Synopsis

City of Blood (2026) is a German scripted science fiction thriller series created by Philipp Kadelbach and Елена Любарская for Disney+. Sisters Bea Hoffmann (Lea Drinda) and Phoebe Kaya (Soma Pysall), reunited after years apart, form the emotional core of a single eight-episode run adapted from a graphic novel. Their engine is simple and urgent: they must survive a Berlin where a privileged few shelter beneath a climate-controlled dome while everyone else struggles through heat, corruption and crime. As they dig into a hidden conspiracy, each episode peels back another layer of a vampire faction determined to seize political power, with blood having become the city's new currency. Johan Moderson (Franz Hartwig) and Zeno Gennardi (Lars Eidinger) are among the principal figures tangled in the power struggle. The tone is bleak, paranoid and visceral, with a grimy, oppressive atmosphere that makes the city feel like a pressure cooker. Shaped as one continuing story rather than case-of-the-week episodes, the series is a limited run that lands in the territory of Blade Runner 2049 and Altered Carbon, while fans of True Blood will recognise its blend of vampire mythology and social allegory. Its dystopian mood and sharp political edge make it a dark, dense watch for viewers who like grounded sci-fi with teeth.
