## Synopsis

SkyMed (2022-present) is a Canadian medical drama series created by Julie Puckrin for CBC Television and Paramount+. Its ensemble follows budding nurses and pilots, including Hayley Roberts (Natasha Calis), Crystal Highway (Morgan Holmstrom), William Heaseman (Aaron Ashmore) and Lexi Martine (Mercedes Morris), as they fly air ambulances across remote Northern Canada. The engine of each episode is a high-stakes medical rescue at altitude, where crews must stabilize patients in cramped cabins and reach people in isolated communities before weather or distance closes the window. Between missions, the characters wrestle with inexperience, personal heartbreak and the strain of working in unforgiving conditions with no one to rely on but each other. The show runs across four seasons and roughly thirty-five episodes, forming one continuing story with a case-driven rhythm. Its tone is earnest and emotionally direct, with tense rescue sequences giving way to quieter moments of loyalty and grief. Set against vast, sparsely populated landscapes, it is a Canadian network drama with a sincere, character-first approach. Fans of Grey's Anatomy and Chicago Med will find resonance in its ensemble focus, while Rescue Me offers a comparable blend of emergency-work stakes and personal struggle.
