## Synopsis

Lighter and Princess (2022) is a Chinese web drama series created for Youku, a single-season run of 36 episodes of roughly 45 minutes each. Set on a contemporary university campus in China, it follows freshman Zhu Yun (Zhang Jingyi), whose college life is turned upside down when the self-styled bad boy Li Xun (Arthur Chen) arrives. Li Xun is assumed to be a rich and idle heir, but he is actually a special admissions student and a rare programming genius. Their early confrontations gradually give way to mutual respect as he invites her onto the preparation team he is assembling to win a major programming competition for the school. Along the way, senior student Fang Zhijing (Cui Yuxin) keeps making things difficult for Zhu Yun, and the episodes are built from classroom friction, team training, and small acts of protection. The register is warm and youthful, with a slow-building romance, light rivalry, and a steady sense of first love. Fans of Meteor Garden, Hidden Love, and Startup will find resonance in its campus setting, its sparring leads, and its tender courtship.
