## Synopsis

The Endgame (2022) is an American network crime thriller created by Nicholas Wootton and Jake Coburn for NBC. Morena Baccarin plays arms dealer and criminal mastermind Elena Federova, who even after her capture keeps orchestrating coordinated bank heists from custody. Ryan Michelle Bathe plays Val Turner, a principled, relentless and socially outcast FBI agent determined to foil Elena's ambitious plan, while Kamal Angelo Bolden plays Elgin Turner and Costa Ronin plays Sergey Vodianov among the supporting figures. The engine of the series is a tense war of wits: Elena pulls strings from her cell while Val pieces together each scheme before it lands, so every episode turns on a new robbery, a new misdirection and a new gamble. Told as a single ten-episode season of roughly forty-three minutes each, the show runs as one continuing story rather than a case of the week. Its tone is taut and propulsive, with a paranoid edge and a steady undercurrent of dread as the captive's reach seems to extend beyond the prison walls. Fans of Breaking Bad, Hannibal and Prison Break will find the same mix of criminal brilliance, institutional pursuit and moral tension. The series was canceled after its single season, so its story stops before its central conflict is settled.
