## Synopsis

If You Wish Upon Me (2022) is a South Korean drama series created for KBS2 and produced by Climax Studios, a single-season run of sixteen hour-long episodes. Ji Chang-wook plays Yoon Gyeo-rea, a convict who finds himself staring into the abyss and is ordered to work at a facility for the terminally ill. Sooyoung Choi plays Seo Yeon-joo, a caregiver whose everyday work at the hospice pulls him toward a different life, while Sung Dong-il plays Kang Tae-sik, a figure whose presence anchors the daily rhythm of care. Won Ji-an, Nam Tae-hoon, and Yang Hee-kyung round out the principal ensemble. The engine of the show is a man trying to bargain his way out of a destiny that has turned against him, measured out in bedside routines, difficult families, and small acts of tending to people who have little time left. Each episode gathers its emotional weight from the people in the facility, and the romance grows slowly from shared work rather than grand gestures. Its tone is sincere and wistful, with melancholy and hope braided together, and its themes of redemption, guilt, and second chances run through every storyline. Set in contemporary South Korea, mostly inside a hospice, the series will appeal to viewers who enjoy a korean romance drama and a slow burn workplace romance. Fans of Dr. Romantic, Hospital Playlist, and Crash Landing on You will find resonance here.
