## Synopsis

Sugar Apple Fairy Tale (2023) is a Japanese animated fantasy series produced by J.C.STAFF and aired on AT-X, adapted from a light novel and running for a single 24-episode season. Anne Halford, a young woman determined to become a Silver Sugar Master, a prestigious confectionery artisan, buys Challe, a fairy forced into servitude, to shield herself on a perilous road. Anne voice Yuka Nukui and Challe voice Masaaki Mizunaka carry the emotional core, while Mythrill Rid Pod (voiced by Rie Takahashi) and Hugh Mercury (voiced by Tomoaki Maeno) populate the wider cast. The engine is a tug between Challe's longing for freedom and Anne's need for protection, as each episode pushes the pair through hostile lands and sweet-craft trials. Its gentle shoujo fantasy register brings warmth, whimsy, and quiet romance to a world where magic and danger coexist. Fans of Natsume's Book of Friends and Kiki's Delivery Service will find resonance in its cozy, friendship-driven adventure and its tender portrait of a companion bond.
