## Synopsis

Vita da Carlo (2021-2025) is an Italian comedy series created by Carlo Verdone, Nicola Guaglianone and Menotti for Prime Video and Paramount+. Carlo Verdone plays a fictionalized version of himself, an actor and filmmaker whose private life is a stream of small humiliations and tender frictions. Alongside him, Max Tortora and Alessandro Haber appear as versions of themselves, while Monica Guerritore plays Sandra and Maria Paiato plays Annamaria, figures tied to the everyday texture of his world. The engine of the show is the push and pull between Carlo's desire for independence and the loving but suffocating presence of his mother, whose demands turn ordinary errands, work and romance into comic skirmishes. Across four seasons of ten half-hour episodes each, the series stays rooted in Rome, with its apartments, cafes and familiar streets providing the backdrop for wry, observational set pieces. The tone is warm, self-deprecating and wistful, with bursts of sharp absurdity and a steady undercurrent of melancholy about aging and loneliness. Fans of Curb Your Enthusiasm, Louie and Ricomincio da tre will find resonance in its blend of autobiographical humor, awkward social comedy and affectionate portrait of a difficult family.
