## Synopsis

The Club (2021-2023) is a Turkish period drama series created by Zeynep Günay Tan for Netflix. Set in cosmopolitan 1950s Istanbul, it follows Matilda Aseo (Gökçe Bahadır), a mother with a troubled past who takes a job at a nightclub so she can reconnect with and help her rebellious daughter Raşel Aseo (Asude Kalebek), whom she could not raise. Around them, İsmet Denizer (Barış Arduç) and Selim Songür (Salih Bademci) move through the club's world of music, drinking, rivalries and quiet debts, while Metin Akdülger's Orhan Şahin and Fırat Tanış's Çelebi add pressure from the city's underworld and social hierarchy. The engine of the series is the slow, risky work of earning back trust inside a place built on appearances, where every new favor could expose a secret. Each season of this two-season run stays with one continuing story rather than standalone cases, and its emotional texture is sharp and melancholic, with glamour and nostalgia resting over real family damage. Fans of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, The Crown and Peaky Blinders will find resonance in its period polish, its morally complicated characters and its focus on family under social pressure.
