## Synopsis

Shrinking (2023-present) is an American dramedy created by Brett Goldstein, Jason Segel and Bill Lawrence for Apple TV. Jason Segel plays Jimmy, a therapist struggling to grieve his wife while raising his teenage daughter Alice (Lukita Maxwell) and keeping his practice afloat. Harrison Ford plays his veteran colleague Dr. Paul Rhodes, whose blunt guidance clashes with Jimmy's new habit of unfiltered honesty with patients, friends and family. Jessica Williams, Michael Urie and Christa Miller round out the office and neighborhood circle. The engine of the show is simple: Jimmy decides to try brutal candor with everyone in his path, and every session, dinner and workplace argument becomes a test of whether that honesty heals or blows things up. Episodes mix sharp workplace comedy with raw scenes of grief, so a joke about a therapy session can sit right beside a quiet, painful moment. The show runs as a serialized, continuing story across three seasons so far, with its emotional arcs building from one season to the next. Set in contemporary Los Angeles, it has a warm, wry tone that stays tender about loss. Fans of Scrubs, Ted Lasso and Fleabag will find resonance in its mix of humor, heart and found family.
