## Synopsis

Dragons: The Nine Realms (2021-2023) is an American computer-animated science fantasy spin-off series created by Henry Gilroy for Hulu and Peacock, produced by DreamWorks Animation Television. Set in the modern day, it follows a group of misfit kids brought to a new research facility by their parents after a geological anomaly splits the Earth open into an immense, miles-deep fissure. Tom Kullersen (voiced by Jeremy Shada) and Alex Gonzalez (voiced by Aimee Garcia) anchor the group, joined by Jun Wong (Ashley Liao) and D'Angelo Baker (Marcus Scribner), while Julia Stiles voices Olivia among the adults. Each episode turns on the friends' efforts to learn where dragons have been hiding while keeping their discovery secret from the grown-ups around them, and the eight-season run stays on one continuing story rather than resetting week to week. The tone is playful and wondrous, with bursts of adventure, friendship and quiet tension as the children weigh loyalty against the danger of exposure. Its TV-Y7 family register and bright 3D animation place it with fans of How to Train Your Dragon, Dragons: Race to the Edge and Gravity Falls, moving the franchise into the modern world.
