## Synopsis

MalaYerba (2021-present) is a Colombian-set comedy-drama series created by Natalia Echeverri for Pantaya. Friends Mariana (María Elisa Camargo), Félix (Sebastián Eslava) and Ignacio (Juan Pablo Urrego) are young entrepreneurs who try to carve a place in a market that has only just been legalized in Colombia, medicinal cannabis. Their engine is the scramble to turn a fragile idea into a working business while rival interests, bureaucratic hurdles and personal tensions keep pushing back. Carolina Gaitán plays Lola, adding another principal presence to the cast. The single season of ten roughly forty-five-minute episodes is a serialized story where each chapter advances the venture and the friendships that hold it together. The tone is breezy and sardonic, with warmth, romance and moments of heated drama, while the atmosphere of a city discovering a new legal industry gives the show a hopeful, slightly irreverent edge. Viewers who enjoy Weeds for its business-driven cannabis comedy, Narcos for Latin American drug-trade stakes, and Ugly Betty for ambitious young characters in a lively workplace will find resonance here. The show is a Pantaya production and a notable entry in Latin American streaming drama.
