## Synopsis

Why Her? (2022) is a South Korean legal romance melodrama created for SBS. Oh Soo-jae (Seo Hyun-jin), a cold and driven lawyer who has become emptied out by chasing success alone, finds herself bound to Gong Chan (Hwang In-youp), a law school student unafraid of anything when it comes to protecting her. Their relationship, which crosses a sharp gap in age and professional standing, pulls against the pressures of a competitive law firm and the wrongful accusations that cloud her career. The series runs sixteen episodes of roughly seventy minutes each, unfolding as one continuous story rather than standalone cases. Supporting roles include Huh Joon-ho as Choi Tae-guk, Bae In-hyuk as Choi Yoon-sang, and Lee Jin-hyuk as Nam Chun-poong, each adding pressure from colleagues and rivals inside the firm. Set in contemporary South Korea, the drama moves between courtroom tension and private longing, with the emotional register running painful, intense and tender. Its mix of legal intrigue and romantic yearning will appeal to viewers who enjoy Korean melodrama and workplace power plays, and fans of Suits and My Mister will find resonance in its professional stakes and emotional intimacy.
