## Synopsis

Let the Right One In (2022) is an American horror drama series created by Andrew Hinderaker for Showtime, adapted from the novel and Scandinavian film of the same name. Demián Bichir plays Mark Kane, a father who has spent a decade keeping his daughter Eleanor (Madison Taylor Baez) alive after she was turned into a vampire at age twelve. Eleanor lives a confined life, able to go out only at night, while Mark scrounges the minimal amount of human blood she needs. Their routine is tested by the people around them, including neighbors Isaiah Cole (Ian Foreman) and Naomi Cole (Anika Noni Rose), whose lives intersect with the family's secret. Set in present-day New York City, the story unfolds across a single ten-episode season of grounded, bloody horror and quiet domestic dread. The tone is melancholic and tense, with a focus on the strain of parental devotion and the loneliness of a child who cannot grow up. Fans of Interview with the Vampire and Moonlight will find resonance in its intimate take on vampire mythology. The series was canceled after its first season, leaving its central story unfinished.
