## Synopsis

Connect (2022) is a South Korean miniseries created by Takashi Miike for Disney+. Its six hour long episodes follow Ha Dong-soo (Jung Hae-in), a solitary man who spends his days uploading music online until an organ hunter kidnaps him and removes one of his eyes. Soon Dong-soo begins sharing the vision of the person who received his eye, and through that connected sight he learns that the taker is a notorious serial killer. He sets out to track the murderer and recover what was taken. Oh Jin-seop (Go Kyung-pyo) and Choi Irang (Kim Hye-jun) are among the principal figures drawn into the pursuit. The engine of the show is a cat and mouse hunt across Seoul's underworld of clinics, back alleys and secret trades, with each episode pushing the pursuit deeper into the organ trafficking trade. The series is a single continuous story rather than a case of the week, shaped by mounting dread and the disorienting intimacy of seeing through a stranger's eyes. Its tone is tense and unsettling, with graphic violence and body horror lingering in the frame. Fans of Hannibal and Mindhunter will find resonance in its psychological tension and its interest in the minds of killers, while viewers of Kingdom will recognize its Korean genre energy.
