## Synopsis

Button Moon (1980-1988) is a British children's television series created by Ian Allen and broadcast on ITV, produced by Thames Television. Each ten-minute episode follows Mr. Spoon, a kitchen-utensil character, who builds a homemade rocket-ship and travels from his home on Junk Planet to Button Moon, a whimsical world that hangs in a soft blanket sky. Once there, he and his family and friends have small, gentle adventures, looking through his telescope at other tales such as the Hare and the Tortoise before returning home. The principal cast of household-object characters includes Mrs. Spoon, their daughter Tina Tea-Spoon and her friend Eggbert, all built from kitchen utensils and everyday props. The show runs seven seasons and ninety-one episodes, with thirteen episodes per season. Its handmade, domestic look and cozy, inventive pacing make it a soothing, nostalgic viewing choice for young children and parents. Fans of The Magic Roundabout and Bagpuss will find similar warmth, whimsy and gentle invention in its brief, imaginative adventures.
