## Synopsis

Cangaço Novo is a Brazilian crime drama series created by Eduardo Melo and Mariana Bardan for Prime Video, produced with Amazon Studios and O2 Filmes. Ubaldo (Allan Souza Lima), a bank clerk who cannot remember his childhood, is pulled from his drab city life when an inheritance arrives that he badly needs to pay for his ailing adoptive father's care. The inheritance draws him into Cratará, a town in the arid northwest desert, where he is expected to lead a pack of ruthless bandits and take up the legacy of his biological father, a mythical cangaceiro. Dinorah (Alice Carvalho) and Ernesto (Ricardo Blat) are among the principal figures around him, and each episode is built from negotiations, betrayals and tense standoffs in the dust of the sertao. The series follows one continuing story across two seasons and fifteen episodes, with its violence and moral compromise reflecting the outlaw tradition of the cangaceiros. Its tone is gritty and brooding, with a mythic undercurrent tied to Brazilian folklore and a sense of a man learning who he is through the company he keeps. Fans of Cangaceiro, Narcos and Breaking Bad will find resonance in its blend of criminal ambition, family legacy and a hard, unforgiving landscape.
