## Synopsis

The Tower (2021-2024) is a British crime drama series created by Patrick Harbinson for ITV1. Detective Sergeant Sarah Collins (Gemma Whelan) is drafted into an urgent investigation after a veteran beat cop and a teenage girl fall to their deaths from a tower block in south-east London. Rookie police officer Lizzie Griffiths (Tahirah Sharif) and a five-year-old boy are left on the roof and then vanish, so Collins races to find them before serious harm comes to them, while also digging into the truth behind the grisly deaths. Her investigation moves through a cramped, pressured estate world of shifting loyalties, where every lead hints at something the force would rather keep buried. Each episode builds tension through interviews, dead ends and escalating danger, with detective work grounded in London's streets and stairwells. The series runs three seasons across eleven episodes of roughly forty-six minutes each, and it was canceled before its story was complete. Its tone is tense, bleak and procedural, with a sharp sense of urban unease. Fans of Line of Duty, Luther and The Bill will find resonance in its gritty british police drama.
