## Synopsis

My Beautiful Man (2021-2023) is a Japanese television drama series broadcast on MBS, adapted from a novel and produced by C&I Entertainment. Shy, insecure high school student Kazunari Hira (Riku Hagiwara) harbors a growing crush on Sou Kiyoi (Yusei Yagi), the coolest and most beautiful boy in school, a guarded classmate who has trouble expressing his emotions and sometimes lashes out. Supporting characters including Kazuki Koyama (Akira Takano) and Shirota (Yuto Tsubone) orbit their lives. The engine of the show is the gap between devotion and worth: Kazunari idolizes Sou and doubts he deserves him, while Sou's rudeness and silence test the bond. Across two seasons and ten episodes of intimate, quietly painful scenes, the story moves through a time skip that reshapes both characters. The mood is awkward, tender and wistful, built on stumbling conversations and long looks rather than grand gestures. Fans of Heartstopper and Kimi ni Todoke will find resonance in its gentle school romance and emotional restraint, and viewers who enjoy queer coming of age stories with uneven, volatile intimacy will feel at home in its patient, character-driven world.
