## Synopsis

Thriller (1960-1962) is an American anthology television series created for NBC, a black and white era network horror and crime program hosted by Boris Karloff, who introduces each self-contained story and appears in several of them as an actor. Across two seasons and sixty-seven episodes of fifty minutes each, the show builds its engine from a single-episode premise: a stranger, a family, or a guilty man is drawn into an eerie situation where the supernatural and the criminal blur, and the moral reckoning arrives through revenge, possession, or a ghostly visitation. Its settings lean on gothic dark houses, swamps, and small rural holdings, with the atmosphere somber and unhurried. Keywords such as parapsychology, magick, and weird tales describe its recurring stock. Fans of The Twilight Zone, Alfred Hitchcock Presents, and Night Gallery will find the same mix of moral irony and mordant suspense. The tone is brooding and eerie, with a deliberate pace suited to classic television viewers who want short, self-contained tales with a sting in the ending.
