## Synopsis

Tropical Heat (1991-1993) is a Canadian action adventure series created by Sam Egan for CBS. Rob Stewart stars as Nick Slaughter, an ex-DEA agent who sets up a private detective agency in the fictional resort town of Key Mariah, Florida. He teams up with local tourist agent Sylvie Girard, played by Carolyn Dunn, and the pair take on a steady stream of varied cases that drift through the town's hotels, marinas and sunny streets. Ian Tracey, Alon Nashman and Ari Sorko-Ram round out the recurring cast, with Pedro Armendariz Jr. appearing as a police lieutenant across much of the run. The series runs for three seasons and sixty-six episodes, and each hour is built around a self-contained case of the week, with the detectives' partnership and banter providing the continuity. The tone is breezy and sun-washed, with light comedy and romance threaded through the investigations, and the palm-lined setting gives it a vacation mood. Fans of Magnum, P.I. and Miami Vice will find a similar blend of Florida sunshine, episodic mysteries and easygoing charm in this 1990s television adventure.
