## Synopsis

Skip and Loafer (2023) is a Japanese animated slice of life series adapted from Misaki Takamatsu's manga and broadcast on TOKYO MX. Its protagonist is Iwakura Mitsumi, a tenacious girl from the countryside voiced by Tomoyo Kurosawa, who arrives in a big city to prepare for high school. Her easygoing classmate Shima Sousuke, voiced by Akinori Egoshi, helps her find her footing in an unfamiliar world, and the series follows the small daily moments of adjustment, from classroom life to new friendships with characters voiced by Yuka Terasaki and Maaya Uchida. Rather than building its episodes around romance, the show lets friendship, belonging and personal growth carry the story, with each episode made of ordinary school situations and quiet misunderstandings. The atmosphere is warm, sincere and gently humorous, with a hopeful, unhurried rhythm. Its single season of twelve episodes gives the story a complete arc. Fans of Barakamon, Yuru Camp and Horimiya will find similar comfort in its gentle, character driven view of growing up. Its feel is sunny and reassuring throughout.
