## Synopsis

Tim and Eric Awesome Show, Great Job! (2007-2010) is an American sketch comedy series created by and starring Tim Heidecker and Eric Wareheim for Adult Swim. Across five seasons and fifty short episodes of roughly eleven minutes each, the two performers play a rotating parade of characters, with no single protagonist pursuing a goal. Each episode is assembled from sketches: public-access style musical acts performed with earnest seriousness, bizarre faux commercials for absurd products, and odd talk-show segments that stretch ordinary formats until they feel uncanny. The engine is escalation of awkwardness and nonsense rather than story, so the comedy lands through deadpan delivery and deliberately cheap-looking editing and effects chosen to make the show appear camp. Celebrity cameos add a further layer, with performers such as Will Ferrell, John C. Reilly, David Cross, Bob Odenkirk, Zach Galifianakis, Alan Thicke and Weird Al Yankovic popping up in strange roles. The overall register is surreal, nightmarish and cringe-inducing, a tone that fans of Mr. Show with Bob and David, Check It Out! with Dr. Steve Brule and Nathan For You will find familiar. It suits viewers who enjoy anarchic, sometimes unsettling humor that refuses to explain itself.
