## Synopsis

Blanca (2021-present) is an Italian national-television crime drama series created for Rai 1 and produced by Rai Fiction and Lux Vide. Blanca Ferrando (Maria Chiara Giannetta) became blind at twelve in a fire that killed her older sister and was set by a violent boyfriend, and that loss hardened into a fierce sense of justice that carries her into the police. Her work is supported by her guide dog Linneo, a female bulldog who protects her in hard moments, and by her beautician friend Stella (Federica Cacciola). The engine of the series is a blind investigator pressing cases through a world that underestimates her, while her private life becomes equally tangled. She is torn between Inspector Michele Liguori (Giuseppe Zeno), a man keeping many secrets, and Nanni, a young cook. Each season is built from case-driven episodes that run alongside a continuing emotional storyline, so the arc accumulates across three seasons of six episodes each. The setting is contemporary Italy, and the tone blends a warm, hopeful register with melancholic undercurrents of grief and betrayal. Fans of Lucy Blue, The Bridge and Sherlock Holmes will find resonance in its mix of procedural investigation and personal romance. The show runs on a tender, character-first rhythm where a crime investigation is always also a story about loss and loyalty.
