## Synopsis

Family Matter (2021-2025) is an Egyptian family comedy-drama series created by Ahmed El Gendy, Karim Youssef and Mohamed Ezz El Din for MBC Shahid. Maged El Kedwany plays Ibrahim, a set-in-his-ways man whose birthday is upended when he becomes the legal guardian of a daughter he never knew, a young woman, Sara, played by Rana Raees, who is just as reluctant to let him into her life. The engine of the show is the awkward daily negotiation between them: household routines, friction over old absences, and the small compromises that slowly make an obligation feel like a home. Supporting principals include Taha Desouky, Samaa Ibrahem and Mohamed Radwan, whose characters widen the circle of relatives, neighbors and friends around the household. The show runs across three seasons, with each season built as one continuing storyline rather than standalone cases, and its episodes move at an unhurried, conversational pace. It has a warm, humane register that mixes gentle comedy with real emotional weight about absent fathers, second chances and unexpected bonds. Set in contemporary Egypt, it is a Shahid original that will appeal to viewers who enjoy family-centered Arabic drama and the quiet comedy of Modern Family and Kabul Express.
