## Synopsis

In From the Cold (2022) is an American spy thriller series created by Adam Glass for Netflix. Margarita Levieva plays Jenny Franklin, an unassuming single mother who is exposed as a former Russian spy and must keep her family life intact while confronting an insidious enemy. Her daughter, played by Lydia Fleming as Becca, and the supporting cast including Cillian O'Sullivan as Chauncey and Alyona Khmelnitskaya as Svetlana Petrova, pull her between ordinary domestic routines and dangerous covert obligations. The engine of the show is the tension between protecting a household and facing a past that will not stay buried, with each episode built around a fresh threat that tests her unusual shape-shifting abilities. The eight-episode single season is a serialized spy thriller with suspenseful, tense moments and a darker, paranoid undercurrent. Its tone leans on action and dread, set in a modern-day American milieu with European and international locations that reflect its cold war legacy. Viewers who enjoy the domestic espionage of The Americans, the action-driven twists of Alias, and the reinvented spy premise of Burn Notice will find familiar pleasures here. The series was canceled after its first season, leaving its central conflict open.
