## Synopsis

Spare Me, Great Lord! (2021-present) is a Chinese animated cultivation fantasy series created by Hui Shuohua De Zhouzi for Tencent Video. Its protagonist Lü Shu, a frail teenager with an iron will, is voiced by Yang Tianxiang, and he juggles a part-time job and care for his adoptive sister Lü Xiaoyu, voiced by Zhao Shuang. After a car accident awakens his latent cultivation powers, he tries to hide them from classmates and from Tian Luo Di Wang, the international foundation that monitors cultivators. Supporting voices include Nie Xiying as Cao Qingci, Ajie as Nie Ting, and Liu Cong as Li Xian. The engine of the show is a dangerous bargain: his power feeds on the negative emotions his actions stir in others, so every good deed carries a cost. Episodes mix school life, bullying, martial arts duels, and sudden supernatural action with sharp comic timing. The series runs across three seasons and forty episodes, with a continuing storyline rather than standalone cases. Its tone blends playful comedy with a darker undercurrent of anxiety and moral tension. Fans of Mo Dao Zu Shi, Battle Through the Heavens and My Hero Academia will find resonance in its blend of cultivation spectacle and teen anxiety.
