## Synopsis

Long Way Down (2007) is a British travel docuseries created by Ewan McGregor, Charley Boorman, David Alexanian and Russ Malkin for BBC Two. Presented as a six-episode miniseries, it follows actors Ewan McGregor and Charley Boorman, longtime friends and motorcycle enthusiasts, as they ride their bikes on a roughly 15,000-mile overland journey from the northernmost tip of Scotland to the southernmost tip of South Africa. The engine of the show is the trip itself: long days in the saddle, mechanical trouble, changing landscapes, and the unpredictable roads that the pair set out to chase. Each episode is built around a stretch of the route, with the two men trading banter, reflecting on their friendship, and meeting locals along the way. The mood is easygoing and warm, with an undercurrent of adventurous curiosity and a sense of wide-open distance. It is a sequel to Long Way Round, and its overall shape is one continuous expedition told in a single arc. Fans of Long Way Round, Top Gear and Chasing the Sun will find resonance in its blend of motorbike adventure, friendship and scenic travel.
