## Synopsis

Migi & Dali (2023) is a Japanese seinen anime series produced for AT-X, adapted from a manga and presented as a single thirteen-episode season of twenty-four-minute episodes. The story follows Hitori, a boy whom a middle-aged couple receives into their lives after years without children. His adoptive parents are kind, their house is spacious and their meals are warm, yet Hitori keeps an important secret from them, determined to protect the happiness he has been given. The engine of the series is that quiet tension between belonging and concealment, built out of ordinary domestic moments such as shared meals, everyday routines and small household rituals. Its shape is that of a contained slice of life with a mystery underneath, where each episode gently peels back another layer of what Hitori is hiding. The mood is tender and wistful, with an undercurrent of unease that keeps the warmth from feeling simple. Viewers who appreciate intimate family drama and quietly unsettling character studies will find resonance here, in the vein of Monster and Mushishi. Its adoption and family themes make it a thoughtful, emotionally direct watch for adult audiences.
