## Synopsis

WWII in Color: Road to Victory (2021) is a British documentary series created for Netflix. Narrated by Trish Bertram, the ten-episode docuseries assembles gripping historical footage, recolored to bring wartime faces and streets vividly alive, and pairs it with expert commentary. Each episode, roughly fifty minutes long, follows a leading figure or a decisive turning point of the Second World War, so the story unfolds as a chronological march through the conflict's great decisions and the people who made them. The format is a one-season limited series rather than a drama with recurring characters, and its engine is the sheer weight of the record: how battles, alliances and political choices shaped the outcome. Tone is sober, immersive and intent on detail, with an emotional undertow that comes from seeing real people in color for the first time. Viewers who enjoy The World at War, Apocalypse: The Second World War or They Shall Not Grow Old will find the same mix of archival power and measured historical narration. The series suits anyone looking for a serious, accessible account of the war told through rare footage rather than dramatization.
