## Synopsis

BEEF (2023-present) is a Netflix dark comedy drama series created by Lee Sung Jin for Netflix. A roadside road rage incident in Los Angeles pits a failing contractor, Danny Cho (Steven Yeun), against an unfulfilled entrepreneur, Joshua Martín (Oscar Isaac), and their escalating feud becomes the engine of the show. Each season follows the two men as their petty grievances spiral into revenge, drawing in their spouses and the people around them. Carey Mulligan, Ali Wong, and Youn Yuh-jung appear among the principal cast, with the wealthy and image-conscious circles of Southern California providing a sharp contrast to the characters' fragile lives. The series tells a serialized story across two seasons, with each season carrying a new cycle of the conflict rather than standing alone. Its tone is venomous and bleakly funny, balancing tense confrontations with blackly comic observation about status, anger, and the thin line between civility and cruelty. Viewers who enjoy cutthroat character studies in the vein of Succession and The White Lotus, or the morally murky chaos of Fargo, will find much to savor here. Its striking performances and unsparing portrait of modern malaise make it a compelling pick for adults who want dark, character-driven comedy.
