## Synopsis

MF Ghost (2023-present) is a Japanese animated racing series produced in Japan and broadcast on TOKYO MX, BS11 and BS Nippon TV, based on a comic. Set in a near future where self-driving electric automobiles have made most gas engines obsolete, it follows Kanata Rivington (voiced by Yuma Uchida), who returns from Britain to compete in the MFG, a championship staged on Japanese motorways. Drivers from around the world race for the title, and Kanata's pursuit of victory is bound up with his search for the father he never knew. Ren Saionji, voiced by Ayane Sakura, and Mayuko Saionji, voiced by Megumi Okada, are among the principal figures around the racing world. The engine of the series is the tension between a driver's hunger for the top prize and the personal questions that follow him onto every course. Episodes are built around races, rivalries, and technical duels in which skill and machine are tested against elite competitors. The series is a seinen-leaning sports anime with a brisk, glossy, adrenaline-driven tone, and its atmosphere of polished speed and urban night routes will appeal to viewers who enjoy Initial D and Wangan Midnight. Fans of Yowamushi Pedal will find resonance in its underdog competition arc. It is an ongoing single-season series.
