## Synopsis

Framed! A Sicilian Murder Mystery (2022-2023) is an Italian crime comedy series created by Maddalena Ravagli and Leonardo Fasoli for Netflix. Two hapless television technicians, Salvo (Salvatore Ficarra) and Valentino (Valentino Picone), stumble upon a corpse and then try every move they can think of to avoid becoming the prime suspects, and each attempt lands them in deeper trouble. Anna Favella plays Ester, and Marianna Di Martino plays Vicequestore Agata Scalia, the police official whose scrutiny keeps tightening around them. The engine of the show is a comic chain of escalating misunderstandings, with the pair improvising cover stories that unravel in the streets, shops and homes of a small Sicilian community that is full of local colour and eccentric characters. Across two seasons of six half-hour episodes each, the series stays a self-contained comic mystery with a light, breezy tone, gentle absurdity and a steady flow of small-town mishaps rather than a dark procedural. Its Sicilian setting and dialect-rich humour give it a distinctive flavour. Viewers who enjoy the bumbling-amateur energy of Hot Fuzz, the small-town policing comedy of Death in Paradise, or the Italian detective warmth of Don Matteo will find a similar blend of mystery and mishap. Some critics found the performances uneven and the pacing slow, so it suits viewers who value character comedy over tight plotting.
