## Synopsis

Tin Man (2007) is an American fantasy miniseries created by Craig W. Van Sickle for Syfy, a three-episode, ninety-minute retelling that reimagines the Oz story as a steampunk high fantasy. Zooey Deschanel plays DG, a small-town waitress who is abruptly pulled into the magical realm of the Outer Zone, where she joins a ragtag band of companions, including Glitch (Alan Cumming), Raw (Raoul Max Trujillo) and Wyatt Cain (Neal McDonough). Their quest is concrete and personal: DG must recover the memories she has lost, find her true parents, and stop the tyrannical Azkadellia (Kathleen Robertson) from plunging the magical land into eternal darkness. The story unfolds as a road journey through strange landscapes populated by brass machinery, mystic figures and dangerous rulers, with Richard Dreyfuss appearing as the enigmatic Mystic Man. The tone is earnest and whimsical, a family-friendly adventure that treats wonder and loyalty with sincerity. Its mix of fairy tale romance and retro mechanical design makes it a natural pick for viewers who enjoy the wider Oz tradition. Fans of Oz the Great and Powerful, Once Upon a Time and Wicked will find resonance in its magical quest, reimagined fairy tale world and heroine-driven adventure.
