## Synopsis

Reboot (2022) is an American satirical comedy series created by Steven Levitan for Hulu. When the streamer revives an early 2000s family sitcom, its dysfunctional original cast is dragged back together to face the unfinished business they left behind. Keegan-Michael Key plays Reed Sterling, Johnny Knoxville plays Clay Barber, and Judy Greer plays Bree Marie Jensen, each carrying old grudges and new professional anxieties into a studio that no longer understands the sitcom formula they once mastered. The engine of the show is the friction between nostalgia and a fast-changing present: every scene tests whether the old characters, jokes, and egos can survive modern expectations about representation, social media, and streaming-era notes. Calum Worthy, Rachel Bloom, and Paul Reiser round out the principal ensemble. The series runs one season of eight half-hour episodes and is a single continuing story rather than a case-of-the-week format. Its tone is sardonic, irreverent, and self-mocking, with a backstage view of the television industry set in present-day Los Angeles. Fans of Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, 30 Rock, and Curb Your Enthusiasm will find resonance in its pointed industry satire and its affection for sitcom history.
