## Synopsis

The Last Days of Ptolemy Grey (2022) is an American limited series created by Walter Mosley for Apple TV, adapted from his novel. Samuel L. Jackson stars as Ptolemy Grey, an aging man with dementia suddenly left without his trusted caretaker, who is assigned to the care of orphaned teenager Robyn, played by Dominique Fishback. Their relationship is the emotional core of the six-episode run, and the story is driven by a treatment that promises to restore Ptolemy's fractured memories and set them on a journey toward shocking truths. Each episode unfolds at a measured pace, moving between the present and the recovered fragments of the past as the pair search for answers. Walton Goggins appears as Dr. Rubin, adding a note of uncertainty to the proceedings. The series is a grounded, character-driven drama with a melancholic yet warm atmosphere, weaving themes of memory, love, and buried family history into a tense, intimate mystery. Fans of Lovecraft Country and The Father will find resonance in its blend of personal grief, moral ambiguity, and the fragile bond between generations, set in the American South.
